We only met Ann on the one occasion, but we thought her to be a lovely kind lady and were hoping to meet her again. Sadly not to be.

We have so many fond memories of Ann - her energy and organisational skills, her ability to maintain close friendships all over the UK as well as her family ties far away, her hospitality and interest and care for our family, her companionship on walks and on walking holidays abroad, our many hours spent chatting and the shared celebrations over so many years. We greatly miss her.

My memories of Ann started around 1974/5 when we visited the house in Redhill while we lived up the road. On one occasion coming off a home made go-cart in the field with the boy opposite, Ann was very kind to make me feel better, on many others looking out the windows and admiring the view with a drink provided. Then, continued visits whilst we were in Bristol, and later when Judith and I dispersed to further afield, at Congresbury when we were back. More even in Cambridge when they visited. Always so interested, so supportive and so pleased to see us! Julian Hibberd
